Is there a way to disable the LCD while using HDMI out? I try to disable and it says to reboot. As soon as i login, the screen turns back on. Any tips or suggestions to keeping it off when HDMI is connected?
…So much for “nerd” in the username. Kidding. Anyway, turning off the display depends on what environment you use. In my case, GNOME can figure that I want my display on my device to be off when an external monitor is detected. (Gotta do the setting for that, of course; but it’s easy-peasy, and you can very likely figure out how.) However, don’t expect the sound to come along if you boot up the environment first before plugging in.
I don’t think the setting’s active now, since I got my replacement screen, and I fear for the micro-HDMI port.
