After installing the HG AIO V2 expansion board, I noticed a huge drop on my wifi signal. I am 2 meters away from my router and I only have one bar of wifi signal. I tried a different antenna and still having the same issue. Antenna connectors both to the CM5 and antenna port are correctly pluged. Anyone had the same problem? Thanks.
you sure you’re using non sma-rp antennas? most wifi antenna are sma-rp and the hackergadgets mount is regular sma.
Try another antenna cable ?, you can get bad ones, wrong male/female polarity, wrong type ipex1/ipex4 (tiny size difference !). Use the shortest cable possible. Antenna connectors damaged ?.Does your config.txt contain dtparam=2 to ensure your CM5 is using the socket and not onboard antenna ?. Is power management OFF ?? (should be). Antenna too close together ?, leave a space between them if possible.
Also try :-
iwconfig wlan0 …
Gives me (5 meters away from router) 5.54Ghz, 24Mb/s, link quality 66/70, sig level -44 dbm
iw dev wlan0 link …
Gives me freq 5540, signal -43 dbm, rx bitrate 390Mbit/s, tx bitrate 433.3Mbit/s
Thanks for the reply, Rex. Yes, it is SMA male, non-rp.Cable was damaged for any reason I’m not figuring out. I should have checked that in the first place, but the cable was working previously and I was not even close suspicious about that.

Possibly trapped in the case halves at some point.
