yeah, i could never get that to work
Did anybody ever try postmarketOS on the uConsole and test out calls? It seems to have an uconsole CM4 build and starts modemmanager by default etc. I feel like it could solve the problem with no phone ringing. (I have no uconsole to test myself, although I’m considering getting one in the far future.)
Not just postmarketOS, though.
I made 4G work on Arch Linux ARM, as well. Calls, texts, data, you name it. Just make sure you’ve setup the correct dependencies, as well as installed the programs/apps you want to use to interface with the modem.
So are you saying with modemmanager, gnome calls, feedbackd, and so on, you have working phone ringing and incoming call notifications using the CM4 uconsole? I think that’s what people are most curious about.
there is a linux smartphone “pinephone”: Smartphones Archives - PINE STORE
it works, can call and receive sms. you don’t want it.
I’m still curious if phone ringing works on the uconsole, with the right things installed e.g. on postmarketOS!
GNOME user, I see? Yeah, I tried Calls and Chatty myself, and while my tests are incomplete, I can definitely say all the 4G functions work. I wanna revisit postmarketOS too, if only pmbootstrap will cooperate with me.
