UConsole Wi-Fi socketg

Does anyone any tips on getting the Wi-Fi antenna plug to seat strongly to the CM socket?

manual?

I’m not sure what you’re saying.

I am connecting the antenna cable plug to the computer module Wi-Fi jack.

But it’s a very tenuous connection at best. I was hoping for a solid “click” and the cable would stay plugged in. But that’s not the case. Sometimes the plug will mate with the jack better than others but usually as soon as the cable is moved at all, like closing up the case, the cable just pops off.

I’m looking for any tips to help make this connection solid.

yes, it’s how it should work.

post a picture, likely you’re not putting it on all the way, but that’s hard to diagnose without a picture

Sorry but there’s nothing to see. A picture would show the backside of the cable plug above the CM card. You can’t see if it’s plugged in securely or not.

Actually here is a pic showing the results of the bad connection. I took off the case back cover and see that once again the cable has popped itself off again.

Because it can’t seem to get a solid “click” connection to its socket

Flip the ipex connector over, you might have the wrong ipex connector.

A picture is worth a thousand words. You could, for example, see whether the plug is bent. Or, as Rex points out, perhaps it’s the wrong type. If you need help, please also help us to find the solution. We don’t have a crystal ball.

Is it the antenna supplied with the uCosnole, or a different cable?

Could simply be the wrong cable you’re using there !, two very similar versions available with confusing muddle of names used by various suppliers. You must use IPEX1 as per the Hackergadget antenna strip/AIOv2 and Compute module plugs, see below…

thanks for the great info. i have a number of ants, im guessing at some point the wrong type was used as the cm socket is pretty mangled.

i dont know whether to try to repair or replace it.
