I designed a KVM expansion board for uConsole, named uKVM, referencing the HDMI capture card design from yuzuki-hcc.
The current version supports either a standard HDMI or a MicroHDMI interface (not both on the same board). Due to the excessive thickness of the standard HDMI port, a recessed mounting approach was implemented (why didn’t I measure it beforehand?!).
Curse you! Another expansion card that I could use. I currently use a USB capture card and this would make my uConsole even more streamlined. Wish the uConsole had two expansion ports now, I have the SDR/LoRa card but this would be nice to run along side it.
I’ll be open-sourcing the schematics and PCB files. I don’t have the capacity for batch SMT assembly and can only rely on my luck to score free SMT opportunities at JLCPCB (up to five boards per batch), so mass production is unlikely. If anyone has access to bulk SMT capabilities, feel free to reach out for collaboration—or just trust my luck…
PS: I found an SMT factory on Taobao and will check it out. Mainland China users will eventually be able to purchase these on Xianyu.
