Update: uConsole shipping related

I tried to be very patient and I checked in only two times, once after the 90 business days (about four to five months) had passed - I was told six batches before mine was going to be sent out, which would be two to three more months.

I checked in again about three months later (july) and I was told they were working on my order and it wouldn’t be much longer. I think this meant that my batch was in production or was getting started really soon.

I received my uConsole about 30 days after that.

Also, just FYI, @Shenglong_Lin I believe the estimate is 90 business days, which is closer to 4.5 months, since there are only five business days in a week. I ordered mine in October of last year and got it just this month, but things have sped up a lot since then, so you probably will not have to wait as long.

Very glad to hear that “things have sped up” words. Anyway, I hope I will receive the shipment notice email soon. The only thing I can do to kill my anxiety is not to check my email box and read the treads of this shipment topic on this forum regularly… :joy:

Well I ordered in January and Alex says mine is in the next batch. If that helps anyone.

…this isn’t a bleeding edge device. CM4 is expected to be superceded soon by a RaspPi 5 version of the Compute Module anytime now. No idea if an adapter board for CM5 is practical for uConsole or added requirements means Clockwork spins up a fourth device for their catalog.

Most folks aren’t getting this for a premium Raspberry Pi (or other SBC modules) device or an elevated ARM Linux experience. They’re getting it for the form factor (admittedly a lot of Portable Raspberry Pi kits lack suitability to a purpose beyond amateur electronics. That’s the appeal, not the capability/capacity.)

If a startup or another company takes the baton Clockwork started and runs with it, then more power to them. Right now, this is as good as I’ve seen in mobile devices based on SBCs.

Let’s hope we receive our orders before China deindustrializes. The days of China being the workshop of the world are fast coming to an end. I would be much happier if the uConsole was being made in Thailand, Vietnam, India, or Mexico.

What makes you say that? I don’t see any signs that western nations are losing their appetite for globalism and cheap junk soon, I’m genuinely interested to hear your reasoning :+1:

The voice of reason starts telling me that this is drawing close discussing politics… Let’s not go there.

No I’m not a mod or admin, but I can pretty tell you that once the line is crossed, people will get the ban hammer.

That said, I wish they were able to work with a larger builder. Can you image if someone like Sony was building these (just like certain models of the RasPi)?

HP and Foxconn have closed and moved their laptop manufacturing out of Chongqing. Apple is also moving iPhone production out of China. A variety of reasons have made it ineffective to continue manufacturing there.

Yeah, I had to unsubscribe from those as I felt like I was being screwed with. I think you can adjust your settings for that somewhere.

My order of uConsole RPI-CM4 (#254xx) has finally arrived today after 9 months of wait (ordered Nov 2023). To give everyone an idea of where the line is…and…I am juuuuuuust happy! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

relax…think ppl are just a bit anxious these days…

Hi,

Shipping time of uConsole is 90-business-day as on the product page.

That being said, there will be about 4 more batches to go before yours.

We are working on a batch at this moment. Since the supply condition is getting better, we expect the production to be constant.

We are trying to maintain a 3~5-batch-a-month schedule.

May 2024, #28600

I got the exact same text, my order is 285xx, so as they said before, At least is copy paste answers :')

How many units are in 1 batch if I may ask :).

That is one of the big questions, we don’t know how many units or wich model a banch incluye but I havent seen any news of shippments in days. I want the Uconsole for arduino coding and pentesting, I think this would look way cooler than the radaxa zero in a 3d printed case I use now. But if nobody recibe shiping notice this week, next Monday I will ask a refund and buy a second handed steamdeck, it also run kali linux and I can code and pentest there too.

I can’t trust nor not trust the statement above

Anyone know what they ship with? Just got a text from fedex saying a package will be delivered on 11/09 from Hong Kong. Don’t often order from there so the only think I can think of is it being the uConsole I ordered.

based on messages above it should be it – people just receive fedex notification out of the blue.

I just got a notification from DHL of a shipment coming from HK as well. I couldn’t tell if it’s from Clockworkpi… Does anyone know what address they ship from or if they use DHL for shipment to the US?
