Update: uConsole shipping related

I got the same answer, 25th of july… still no shipping

Alex on July 22nd:
“there will be about 4 more batches to go before yours. We are trying to maintain 3~5-batch-a-month schedule.”

August 21th:
"there will be more 2 batches before yours.

It’s 2 batches a month, not 5. If I’m lucky I probably receive at the end of September.

This was my recent conversation with Alex.

Me July 30th: Ok, I waited the 90 business days. I haven’t bothered you at all. I’ve been quite patient. This waiting is getting frustrating.
Please tell me when my order 278** will be shipped.

Alex Aug 1st: Hi, Sorry for the waiting.
There will be about 2 more batches to go before yours.
We are working on a batch at this moment. Since the supply condition is getting better, we expect the production to be constant.
We are trying to maintain a 3~5-batch-a-month schedule.
But if you don’t want to wait any longer, I can issue a refund.

Me Aug 15th: So if you are doing 3-5 batches per month like you say you are. And as of Aug 1st you say there were 2 batches ahead of me… Then by your own calculations mine will ship by the end of August. Correct? I do not want a refund, I just want what was promised to me when I gave you my money.

Alex Aug 16th: That is the plan. We are working on a batch now, your batch is right next to it.

He’s got 5 business days left to not become a liar. Lets see.

He’s a liar, always says the same stuff. He told me those answers aren’t automated but they are at least a copy-paste.

Just like you, I just want the device I was promised 236 days ago

I feel like he leveraged the money of the individual buyers to deliver on promises to larger distributors and hoped he could still slip the individual orders in. But as distributors continued to order more, now he is only focused on satisfying them. And can afford to refund all the individual buyers as he has enough money now to keep the ship afloat. We essentially gave him a loan. I talk about this strategy in a previous comment I made on here.

He told me that:

“All the results are based on the money, which we don’t have too much to spend, not like those big companies.
So, again, I understand your concerns, because I am also a customer, and I would definitely been pissed off if I were you. It’s fair.
I said all those above not to sugar coat the situation, but merely to assure you that we’ve been working extremely hard.”

I don’t know why they don’t even update the info when ordering, or even say one single sh1t on this topic, no updates no nothing, absolute shame.

This is a Wix site, is so easy to manage and they don’t even have time so post updates, not even DOS protected.

Just fking say that there’s no money, there’s no LCD panels, there’s no cm4, but update your damn clients about it, be specific. If they tell me that they are having specific problems or even explain exactly WHY they are having such delays there’s no problem.

But clockwork instead of being transparent they are completely opaque.

Yeah, I think it’s just a loan, the only problem is that scalpers have more power than us to buy large amounts…

I’ll start developing a strategy to make them pay for those delays, PayPal and Stripe can fck them easily if they get enough reports from the clients.

Hackberry Pi send your product in 7 days from Germany and it’s taking 4X times for these guys to keep cheating on us with the delivery times.

If they tell me that paying 50 more bucks to it will get it right now to be sent to my damn house I would do it!!

But they prioritize they fking AliExpress scalpers, I’m 99% sure this is a complete scam now.

It makes me so fking angry dude.
@AlexDuan you better hurry the fck up I get my uconsole on my door before the month ends or i’ll send a formal email stating that, under EU consumer protection laws, I am entitled to a full refund or immediate delivery of the product. I’ll inform you that if you fail to comply, I will proceed to open a dispute through PayPal and take further legal action, also i might consider consulting with a lawyer specialized in international law or consumer protection. They can advise me on the best course of action and whether legal action is viable.

Did you try asking nicely for a refund? I’m guessing it would be fast. When I replied to my order confirmation email and asked if I could change it to delete the CM4 module, within their next business day I had a $70usd refund and a message stating they updated my order.

Yes I am disappointed that after almost a month it hasn’t shipped, and I know some people have waited longer than I have, but I’ll probably get over it.

That said, selling volume to people you know are going to double or triple the price does seem wrong, especially when paying customers are waiting.

Selling to people in volume while pretending that 90 working days is achievable for your regular customers is definitely wrong.

Just got my order cancelled after waiting for 237 days, they decided that is better to refund instead of sending it directly and now I bought it to a scalper.

If you’re reading this, just buy it from a scalper, don’t lend your money to those scammers, buy it from AliExpress, you will get it fast and you will have consumer protection.

IF YOU PAID AND HAVE WAITED MORE THAN 90 DAYS CANCEL ASAP!!! DON’T GIVE FREE LOAN’S!!

It was a horrible pleasure guys, stay safe out there

I’m order 274XX and I was also told on the 30th there were 3 batches ahead of me.
I just replied today asking if September will be my month based on the 3-5 (making 3 the MINIMUM) batches per month volume that was claimed.

Here’s hoping you and I are replying here by the end of Sept. that we happily have devices in hand.

Cheers!

I work as a hardware developer. I don’t usually like to join forums, but I feel the need to chime in on the discourse here.

I think a conservative estimate from date of initial order to shipment of 9 months is entirely reasonable for a product at the price point of the uConsole. I think 90 days is an overly optimistic time frame, but it looks like staff at Clockworkpi probably has their hands overly-full and is reliant upon the standard response template. I get it, they’re human and there’s only so much they can do.

If this product was less popular it may have been easier to deliver on a shorter timeframe, but even massive companies with hundreds of billions of dollars on hand are having issues delivering popular products right now.

And this is a niche product. When purchasing a uConsole, you need to expect these long turnaround times. And as far as I can tell, it appears they’re entirely willing to refund your money if you find yourself unwilling to wait longer.

I guess for every cancelled order, the rest of us get pushed up the line one spot so it works out for everybody.

“When purchasing a uConsole, you need to expect these long turnaround times.”

They need to update the sale page. I expect what I am told. Now, i can understand if i order on amazon and it takes a few extra days because of a monster blizzard taking out a shipping hub or something. Internet shopping would be much less popular if it was common for “i know you selected 3-5 day shipping but it has only been 14 days since you placed your order. You need patience” was common.

“Based on the current supply chain and logistics situation, the estimated delivery time is approximately 90 business days.”

They need to remove this line and keep it off until they get caught up, or at least edit it to be more reasonable. “Due to supply chain issues, wait times of up to one year are not unheard of.”

Supposedly my order is in the next batch. If we get around to December and I still dont have it, i’ll be tempted to start spamming with “Day 366 of 90 waiting for my order.” “Day 367 of 90 waiting for my order.”

I don’t know if you’ve actually read the threads where people are sharing their experiences trying to get updates. The issue isn’t the long lead time, it’s the slippery, dishonest answers from clockworkpi that are causing most of the grief. In this thread here you can find people whose orders went from “yours is next” to “we’re packing your order” and then back to “it’s being worked on” a couple of times and when pressed on it clockworkpi tried to claim that “packing” means something other than putting it in a box to be shipped.

There’s no need for it, as you can see there are plenty of people, myself included, who just wanted to know where it was, never sent anything other than polite emails asking for information, and still ended up getting fobbed off.

Niche devices like this live or die because of the community that spring up around them to support and extend the software, so lying to and alienating your customers is a really bad idea. I know nobody likes giving out bad news but clockworkpi really need to stop being economical with the truth and put on their website what the real average lead time to deliver actually is, and start giving details about the delays either here, or on their website where they can be seen.

Are you sure you will need it after a year of waiting? And what new other devices might appear on the market in a year?

Honestly, I sent a resume tonight for a job, and I shouldn’t need it if I get hired. Current job and it would be nice to have, but future job might actually prevent it. I guess if my employment changes, I may cancel the uConsole and just upgrade my Devterm to CM4.

I just signed up to say that my uconsole arrived just over a week ago (from an early Nov 2024 order / Black+CM4+4G) and it is genuinely worth the wait. Everything fits together well and the case and keyboard feels super rugged. The CM4 core has just enough performance to do most tasks, and I’m now using it more often than my phone or laptop.

For those that finally received theres, and were checking in with Alex regularly, how long from the time you got the reply that “it’s in the next batch” to when you actually received it? I really feel I’m on the home stretch now.

I placed my order just last month. I’m just an average person who’s interested in this device. A 90-day wait is acceptable, but anything beyond that—like 360 days or even longer—will completely kill my interest. So, if they don’t deliver within the promised 90 days, I’ll cancel my order immediately.

I asked myself why not cancel this order and get a PS5 for Black Wukong. My PC is kinda too slow for it
