Total uConsole noob here. Can you boot from an SD card if the RP5 has onboard eMMC? Can the SD card even be used? I have a 16GB RAM, 64GB eMMC RP5 I’d like to use with the uConsole.
Does the RP5 run the same software as the RP4? No changes needed?
No if you have a RPi CM5 with EMMC then you can’t use the SD slot.

but you could use eMMC + internal usb flash. eMMC has sense on CM5 as (from some manual) it has 4x speed of CM4 eMMC
Hi, i faced this issue, uconsole cannot to home AP but can connect mobile phone hotspot thru wifi
- Following suggesttions to switch from net manager to dhcpd thru rasi-config but i did not find the option there.
- Another suggested switch to WPA2 from WPA3. again i did not find the option. Currently WPA,WPA2,WPA3 is ON, But it giving problem.
Any where in the GUI for does these two setting are located. or do i have to go into CLI to set.

Sad to said i am unable to as the router is an old one without WPA3 support.
i am refering to changing it at OS side not router as it does not support WPA3
i have also observe that when i connect to moblie hot thru wlano (pi wifi). i suddenly can connect to AP thru a realtek usb wifi adapter.
it seem like wifi have a higher priority. very starnge, i have yet to confirm it again.
Pretty sure it a software things. have to investigate slowly.
are you using the stock antenna stuck to the case.
most probably it’s an antenna issue. try to point uconsole directly to the router

I am sitting next to the router. And the uconsole indicate about half strength.
Also i have disable pi wifi. Using usb wifi adapter instead. More testing required.
But much more stable connection using usb wifi adaptor.
Yes i am using stock antenna.

you can put something in between stock antenna and uconsole, a few mm of something like electrical tape to move it away of metallic body

I have downloaded and flashed the newest bookworm lite 6.12.28 to a samsung 128 EVO pluss with no extra config, then inserted in my uconsole cm4, holding down the power button for 2 sec until the green indicator light appears. The screens backlight turns on, but nothing more happenes, like some others describe. I have tried some of the fixes like blind reboot, double pressing the power button, removing the batteries and retrying, retrying many times. But noting happens. What could be the couse of this? could it be that i have EVO pluss, and should be using just EVO microSD card? what should i do?

How are you flashing the image? If using Raspberry Pi imager do not apply custom settings.
Im using pi imager, and im not applying any settings.
has the uconsole worked before?
can you try a different flashing program and don’t decompress the image before flashing.
make sure everything on the uconsole is fully seated. (panel, cm4, cm4 adapter)
do you have batteries in? if not what is the power bricks rating?

now i get an error on the package initramfs-tools when i try to install xfce4, i have tried fixing this but i cat get it to work. is this a known issue?
