but if I take out the 2.5mhz keyboard dongle, I can save my backups using the one I have… I wonder… could I use a split-out, like a ganged usb bank, to do the two things at once?

0. you can use bluetooth keyboard…
1. yes, you can use usb hub (and you can even stick it to backside with tape)
2. there is a ‘hidden’ usb if you will to solder (and do not have 4g board)
