Well I just got my import duty notice for the UK, and it’s about 1/3 the price of the device. Worst part of it is I don’t even want the frigging thing any more.

My A04 has arrived today in Cambridge, UK. I had to pay VAT on it (plus the usual handling fee), but the service from FedEx was very good. I’m looking forward to having a play with it. Thanks to @AlexDuan and all the CPi team for a great job, and for keeping up the customer relationships despite the inevitable shipping delays, component shortages and so on.

Interesting… mine (and my colleague’s) arrived today, and no VAT to pay on either of them. One delivered in Chelmsford, the other in Colchester.
Almost feels arbitrary.
Anyway, it arrived a day early and I’ve put it together. Feels sturdy and while the trackball is crap, the keyboard and display are very nice. Though for some reason the speakers don’t work other than constant squealing while the unit’s turned on.

You can improve this with a firmware update.

I received my A04 this weeks as well, after almost 14 month since ordering. The built is quite easy and the machine has very attractive unique look. However I have screen issues that appear after a few minutes of use and I suspect they are linked to the machine overheating.
Consider you lot lucky for having your devterms now, because while I’m cleared on tax and customs front, FedEx decided to send mine only on this coming monday (10th Jan) because the lack of courier fleet going around (Malaysia’s still in lockdown despite the ministers and VIPs going about on holidays, hah!)

At this point, I’ve been reading too much in the other threads (PSA, assembly experiences, bugs) that I’m confident I can assemble it while sleeping!
HI @Mezzie are you getting uConsole this time ? I’m curious on how getting uConsole shipped into Malaysia since my concerns are the tax and sirim fee.
