I know this thread is a bit old, but has anyone sourced an OLED/AMOLED screen that would be a viable screen replacement for the uConsole’s LCD screen? Thanks
I think @lululvlv is trying to source some sort of upgrade. Since they developed an NVME solution I’m hopeful they will find a screen upgrade. Whether it is OLED is not something I know.
Sounds good and thanks!
first, office nvme system will update.about screen.l think after official cm5 system update.
Something I’ve thought about is a mainboard modification that routes the Pi’s HDMI0 to an eDP connector of some sort for a new internal screen, and HDMI1 to USB-C DP alt mode over the USB-C power connector. Then regular Raspberry Pi software distributions would work unmodified on the uConsole and the kernel voodoo wouldn’t be necessary.
you won’t be able to use eDP, the pi soc doesn’t support displayport out. It’s why the Pi4/5 used mini HDMI.
They have chips for that, you know.
I’m not actually sure if the hyperlinked IC would work for HDMI 2.0 → eDP but there’s sure to be one that’s useful.
