After asking alex about my april order , i got a nice reply saying
They apologize and they are working on it..
Ok.. its a bit generic because i asked a bit more detail. Ah wel..
They are probably waiting for a batch of a specific part (or parts). Pretty sure once those arrive a whole batch will go out.
So really no point in everyone asking now by email.
And if you did not see anything about the delays before purchasing, thats unfortunate. But its just how things often work with niche products.

Yeah, i fortunately visited the forum before i ordered. And did make me think twice, but have some other projects to keep me entertained, and at least i knew what i was in for. So went ahead anyway.
If you did not know that can be rough. But these forums can be quite entertaining by itself. Not sure how advanced you are with electronics and linux, but could already start preparing and testing some new things

it means i can’t use a eMMC version? Only lite?
you already bought CM4 module from clockworkpi, but seems like if you ask them to refund CM4 module then:
- shipment seems be faster
- you can buy CM4 8gb or CM5 instead
you can use eMMC, but in that case you need extra board to flash it + you can’t use sd card slot

The clockworkpi mainboard was designed before eMMC compute modules were a thing, so it doesn’t support flashing eMMC.
Because raspberry pi connects the eMMC to the same pins as the SD card interface you either have eMMC or an SD card slot and never both. SD is a lot more convenient to use so lite models are prefered

Yes i’ve ask a refund for CM4 and bough CM5 CM5116064 16/64 Wireless.
I’ve bought Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 IO Board as well to flash an eMMC on my CM5.

no, it’s disabled from the factory and can’t ever be enabled

You says theres no point in everyone emailing alex about order, if you followed this thread i email alex twiced in the 5 month if order this.
Dunno if you were saying this abroad unspecificly , but theres no point in trying to ostracise me for two email emphasising it out of specs to look like it was inconsiderate.
Two email prooved me one thing , alex or a vacancy message , has as much transparency each other, and trying to get a professionnal inquiry about the status of an order he said usually goes out in 90 days isnt abnormal. All the opposite, and we left hanging, would be more professionnal to give a more realistic delay than a generic “ please hold “
So it has a purpose. It get all of us on par on what to expect

I was not referring to you specifically! And a few emails will not hurt, but if literally everybody starts mailing, that will just take away time from productive things.
