Thank you very much @vileer, I’m fine. You don’t need to apologise to me.
And there’s a positive side effect: it looks even more like a hacker gadget! ![]()
That’s the way to go!
I am order 6437 so most likely it’s good?
Spacing is all ok. the height of a discrete resistor falls within the height of the Ethernet port, which in turn has more than enough space to slot into the case.
If you are not put putting in the pins like i did, i would think you would have no issues at all.
If you are using standard L pins (pin spacing is 2mm instead of 2.54mm) you might have to snip it off a little to have more decent clearance. i did stick a small piece of electric tape at the area just in case, but after assembly, its all not touching anything at all.
#6437 was already shipped. So it’s involed.
Any Wattage recommendation for the resistor? Or does any do… gotta check my stash.
Also… sorry for your loss man. I won’t be getting that money from you back! Just hoping for a lot of tutorials instead tbh (from users, maybe yourself?) — no idea what this setup is capable of! Maybe a Wiki would be nice … or a subforum here with all the projects? @moderators would that be possible?
Hi Vileer, when is the return process scheduled to begin after submitting the Google form?
I don’t want any money back either, this fix is fine by me as well. Might hit you up for a beer when I’m back in Shenzhen later this year though. ![]()
I was order 5639, is mine affected?
@vileer None of the emails I received about my order say that it was “shipped on” a certain date. The nearest I can tell is, the tracking page shows that somebody (I’m assuming an import agent of some kind) in New York, gave the package to the US Postal Service on 2026-01-16.
My order number was 6529. Can you confirm whether it IS or IS NOT affected?
If it helps, the resistor on the board measures 7.8KΩ. (I’m assuming means it could also be called a “7K8”? I’m a software/networking guy, not a hardware guy.)
at least that Resistor is on an easy spot to solder I’ll do that next week, i got 1206 resistors at the moment, i’ll probably add a 4.6kΩ should be Nice there.
Any 0402-size resistor with the value from 4.3k to 3.4k would work. I will write a instruction showing how to do it later.
#6529 is affedted. It’s a 10k resistor. It wouldn’t be accurace if you measure it onboard.
I locate in Guangzhou, which next to Shenzhen. But I join the Shenzhen Makerfaire every year.
#5639 is also affected.
oh, I’d use a big one… still afraid of “smd”-soldering
We may process in the next day. We will send out the email for asking the pick up address.
My aunt and uncle live there, I’ve been many times. The underground mall arcades were awesome 20 years ago.
So putting 2 discrete resistors parallel would also work right? I have one measuring around 17.6 and one measuring about 9.8 and parallel it measures 6.4K.. I mean, I ordered the smd ones but this is what I have and way more easy to solder. Lower resistance makes the max Amps higher?
Hi, can you tell me when Order #6235 will ship?
