uConsole + CM5 Green Led ON-No Flash-No Back Lit

Hello,

I put together a console with a CM5, when i power on the screen backlight never turns on. i was having trouble finding the right img to download, then i had the Pi Imager give the unable to access the USB… I used Etcher and i think i got the image to the USB but not sure… either way the SD wont boot, nor will the USB boot it.. \

Could someone give me a link to the current image? Any other pointers would be good also.

I am probably missing something obvious, unfortunately these cancer drugs kind of fog up my thoughts.

I had the same issue. It seems with the most recent CM5, especially the 16gb, the tips in below will fix it. After that you can also apply the patch that the topic is about.
And for the image, start with one of the images by REX that you can find here on the forum. Bookworm or Trixie. This one for instance: Trixie 6.12.y for the uConsole and DevTerm - #154 by Rex

I was able to download the image, after a few attempts with Pi Imager it verified the image to the SD Card, still i get green power light but no signs of post of the display activating… I’m going to try to read the EEPROM config and do that tomorrow unless someone has a simple easy to follow cheat sheet. I’m not sure ill be able to do what is needed since i cant access anything on the uConsole.

I am using a CM5 CM5108064 8GB Ram, 64GB EMMC BLE.

Is it normal when no SD Card is in for the green power button the light up but no LCD Flash with Backlight turning on?

That will probably be why then, you can’t use an Emmc pi with an SD card I believe, you need to flash the image to the Emmc using a flasher.

I can’t offer more I’m afraid, I don’t have an Emmc pi but these may help:

You can’t use the SD card slot when you have emmc storage on your cm. You’ll need a separate carrier board to flash the emmc with the image to be able to boot it in the uConsole.
