You’re the best! Thank you for sharing If you have a youtube channel or social media where you’ll be sharing uConsole content, please let me know so I can follow/sub.
Mine has arrived, and is waiting for me to get home from work and find that Pi CM4 module I know I have put somewhere “safe”.
few questions if you don’t mind
- how’s the keyboard? is it comfortable to type on? do you think you could type reasonably quickly on it?
- how’s the trackball?
- how well does it fit in the hand?
thanks!
First congratulations to the clockwork team for delivering an amazing device yet again!!
And congratulations to all who got their uconsoles!!
I’m dying of envy can’t wait for mine to ship (20xxx)
The keyboard is pretty good actually, I was able to hammer out some commands relatively quick, and with a little practice it’ll be like typing on the Droid phones from way back when.
All feels pretty well laid out when you’re holding it. The trackball needs a little pressure, but it’s workable. I’ll have to get used to it.
Would you let us know what is the screen window size in mm? I want to find a good glass screen protector.
nice, thanks man! i’m wanting to use mine for my daily driver phone, i’ll figure it out lol
Mine’s 111mm x 63mm. Might want to measure yours when you get it.
Anyone else missing the RPi-CM4 adapter in the box (for the CM4 lite units)? The product page indicates it ships with the unit, and I sort of recall Alex confirming this via email at the time of ordering.
Nice to know your heart and the enter button are in the right place.
I didn’t even look but he 100% confirmed it for me in email that it would. I’d be very bummed if it was missing. What should it look like? Is it the bare pcb the speakers slot into?
That’s messed up for a lot of people if this is true inc me. Can anyone confirm this who never ordered with a cm4 module this is important for many. If true this is a huge mishap and one that wont be forgotten.
Product description states that the adapter is inside the box if you purchased the RPI-CM4 Lite version, with or without the module.
Yes there is a bare PCB to hold the speakers in.
sick!!! I might order a R01 core. Messing around with RISC sounds interesting!
I’m sorry to report there is no adapter if you ordered without the CM4, which is also contrary to what I was told before I ordered.
I’m a huge fan of the pocketchip and have been playing with those again in the last 2 weeks, so my preferences are skewed in that direction. Relative to the pocketchip:
It’s much heavier (all metal)
It’s a fair bit bigger
The keyboard is much better
It’s not as ergonomic but it’s not bad at all
Very solid construction. Feels very industrial. I’m very impressed with the fit and finish. Keyboard and trackball are quite good. I also have a devterm and this trackball feels much better and more natural.
