194xx people are anxious like hell, what should us 204xx, 208xx do? I think I’ll pass the order confirmation emails to my kids in my will and have them pass it on to their kids. There eventually will be a day , we shall have hope people, that’s what we mankind are living on!!!
Haha…
Relax, I believe they will ramp up and produce and send more devices. Patience! They are almost there! And in our hands within not to long!
Just wait until the Raspberry Pi CM5 module drops and these guys have to design another carrier board and we all end up here again waiting. Existence is pain!
Still waiting on the A-06 model. I have kind of lost interest. It will be irrelevant to me by the time it arrives.
I like the enthusiasm man. /S
Hi,
I included 4G-module, as you well ?
194xx as same as me…
Osamu
Mine is 204xx, you are ahead of a lot of people, don’t worry.
Not neccessarily, since getting an rpi unit takes forever too nowadays, so uconsole cm5 r&d will actually sync up to our rpi5 orders and ship just in time, the only thing we need to do is to make the first batch this time. Beauty of the post Covid supply chain LOL.
You are likely correct. I do hope clockwork continue to support their hardware with faster processors. Raspberry have been totally lacklustre with updates lately.
Why will it be irrelevant? Seems a touch dramatic…
They are a non for profit foundation…
Raspberry? A non profit with a $500mil valuation and recent $50mil funding round with no output. OpenAI isn’t exactly open now that they have money either.
They are a charity… I think you are missing the point.
Regarding OpenAI, they are just a company, the name gives the impression they are open source or anything other than an
a company with the sole purpose, to make money.
Edit: They do technically have a non-for profit research lab but also have a company who only want to make money. Very different from the RPi Foundation…
I actually don’t care. I just want a processor that’s actually worthy of my uConsole.
Hey can we please scope conversation here to shipping. There’s lots of room on the forum but this is the official shipping thread. Thanks.
Good morning,
I only pop in here from time to time, but it’s confusing at the moment to know when the uConsole is going to be shipped. I placed the order in Oct/2022, we are in Jul/2023, 9 months have passed. I understand that there can be problems, but the 90 day estimate that was promised is way off the mark. I think this should have been taken into account and not mislead users in this way. How much longer do we have to wait? The time of pregnancy has already passed, it is time to give birth (with all due affection).
There are only two options, one is to wait, one is not wait, and ask for refund.
This is an experience with ClockworkPi since the DevTerm.
I donot know how about experience of the GameShell, it’s a Kickstarter project.
I STRONGLY suggest ClockworkPi never do this again.
For the next product, please get some investment, do the R&D and production with the investment, and sell the products on shelf.
Do not cost “fans” enthusiasm and trusts any more.
I worked in manufacturing for 25 years, things go wrong. Maybe you would feel less frustrated if you wait until the product is in stock and shipping. Being on the cutting edge of a new product has its risks. I personally accept those risks.
New product has it’s risks of course. But by who taking the risks? The developer? the producer? the customer?
I donot mean I would like to wait untile the product is in stock, I would like just buy what’s in stock now. Why should customer wait such an illusion, and support the developer by customer’s money?
If the developer need’s customer’s support, maybe it should held it on some platform just like Kiskstarter, not by it’s own credit.
The most PCBs of uConsole are the same as DevTerm, not cutting edge new product, maybe it shouldn’t take such a long period to do the R&D and production.
