Update: uConsole shipping related

most likely i am. with my friends’ experiences with online orders not shipped on time\not shipped at all happening pretty often, to me the number one relief is that the product exists in the first place.

though i can tolerate both delays and (some) truth bending, i can see why some people may expect otherwise.

it would be a shame if people lawyering up would impact deliveries… (as i’ve also been waiting for mine since autumn)

Due to the continued shortage of semiconductors worldwide due to the Corona disaster, the procurement of core parts may not be as expected. I think we should be honest about that.

I don’t know how many staff members there are, but I’m wondering if they have a good grasp of everything from production status to delivery. It is necessary not to take the reports from the production area with a grain of salt, but to firmly supervise them.

They build these for order. I do not think they have ever stock. And thats fine

Corona has been over for a while now. Where do you still see the impact?

Hi Nunya Business, as a lawyer that specialises in consumer law/consumer affairs I can tell you it is not fraud. It would only constitute fraud if they refused to provide a refund. Once a refund is provided there is no contract of sale remaining. Also fraud is a criminal act and what you are referring to would only be a violation of consumer law and would at best come with a mild warning and is also dependant upon the jurisdiction that you are attempting to uphold this claim in. If you’re hypersensitive/easily triggered or not happy with the product/service it’s pretty simple - don’t buy it or ask for a refund. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Just cancel your order if you are so unhappy. Let the guys in China do their job and if you are not happy yoi can always go away

Not true
The most recent silver no core orders are shipping in about 90 days

How about the black no core, no 4G ones?

Fraud?
Has anyone asked for a refund because it takes so long to ship and not been given a refund?
I have not seen even one post making such a claim but correct me if I am wrong.

People are over sensitive. The guys in China are working hard to build devices for us - one by one, to order. There is no ready to go stock and there are parts shortages. So there is a wait (sometimes a long one). This is quite normal with made to order items from small companies. If someone complains they promptly refund. I would think they act 100% professional and would recommend them to anyone (and of course mention the long wait). I have ordered other “made to order” small batch electronics (from a guy in the US) - there the average wait was 6 months (and the waiting list opened up only so often). Still many many people gladly waited and the enjoyed their product 6 months (or sometimes more) later. People: if you are not happy with your wait time - do cancel!!! Others will get theirs sooner if you do, so we all win.

Corona is not completely over, but the major impact has largely diminished. However, the shortage of semiconductor products has only recently been resolved.

I don’t fully trust the company’s claims, but unless there are some unforeseen circumstances, I will wait patiently for shipping.

The front page of https://www.clockworkpi.com/ states pre-order. That means that you are ordering before it’s generally available and will need to wait for shipment.

Even if it doesn’t constitute a scam, I think the company should be more honest and detailed in order not to make customers feel uneasy or impatient.

If everyone unhappy could please cancel so my order comes faster. Thanks.

Ok guys, this thread is again turning into a shitshow.

Yeah CPi have problem with shipping quickly the devices quickly, they still at in preorder and not in full stock, as far as I know the uConsole has attracted a lot of orders, more than they are used to. Please be patient, they are not a scam nor a fraud, they will deliver.

I would recommend to stop any type of threat here, if you have any comments to make, send CPi an email they’ll answer.

As for the FTC, CPi being a (small) Chinese company, they can do really little to absolutely nothing, this is just threatening for threatening.

So please stay civil in there, I would like to avoid bringing sanctions again.

I can say both of my units came right at eight (8) months after order date. They’re definitely shipping products, just requires patience!

I’m sure they are doing the best that they can do, being a new independent company. I apply the analogy that adding extra pressure only slows the delays the process more. waitning for components to be manufactured, is completley dictated by the suppliers and their scheduled production assesments. I would rather have a well built product that will last than a quick cheaply sourced device that is thrown togeather to meet the timeline. At this point im not concerned with who, or how long its going to take. I just want quality to be consistant, or better as explained. All good.
