We should be grateful that the product comes with a free shipping issue! This is a true FOSS experience like none other
Fysa - beepberry pushed their kicad files to GitHub yesterday if you want to take a look. They looked complete to me.
im excited about getting the handheld in September ?
I had some rpizw’s in the stash pile, so I ordered mine without it. Those will ship in August according to the site. With rpis come in Sept.
My last rpizw died … I morn it’s passing to this day… I have Pi 3’s no 2’s and no 4’s … ( I lost the last 2’s years ago) several laptops running linux… looking forward to this handheld…
I had a single board computer addiction from 2002-2015. Although rehab helped, my garage still looks like a sales booth in Shenzhen. Broadcom, Allwinner, iMX, etc. I think I’m the last person on earth with a stock pile of cm4 lites ha.
Once I found out I could get really cheap windows 7 era laptops for ~$50 I’ve quit buying pi’s I picked up a Panasonic toughbook and SSD drive for $60 in Hunstville AL, USA at the Huntsville Hamfest (it happens every August ) there are really good deals on laptop laptops and monitors there
Ha, I’m a devel in the rocket city at RSA. Too funny. Never been to ham fest, but I’ve heard of it.
Yeah, I started using those cheap x86_64 zotac PCs from Amazon. They work great for usb perfs. You can’t beat sata, usb 3.0, and lots of cores/ram for a sub $200 box.
Think it cost like $10 to get in …
The one I ordered is one city away - I’ll migrate my digital weather rock code to it and maybe a few more sensors…
XD , made me laughs … ((here some more characters to be able to post ))
I have to ask… what is that? video accelerator card? user interface? can’t really tell what it is…
A case for the mainboard from the Framework laptop, so you can use it as a desktop computer.
Ooh, very nice case! Do you have a link? I have been eyeing FrameWork motherboards on their marketplace for a while now.
Edit: found the link, didnt realize FrameWork was doing an official case like that.
Link for the curious: Framework | Cooler Master Mainboard Case
Okay I’m on this forum rather than the shipping update one because , well there has been no update… It’s into June and I know of another user who hoped to get the uConsole by his birthday - (my birthday is end of June) I purchased the uConsole in late Oct/Nov hoping it would be a late Christmas present - say March … now it’s Summer Solstice still no uConsole … sad to say it may be late summer or fall… sigh… Big news is Ham Radio Field day is this weekend - I will be taking my Panasonic Tough book and DevTerm to the event… toughbook can send email via radio or Telnet… working to load the software on DevTerm - but will require build from .TAR file…
All this waiting and it doesn’t even come with batteries, hahahahaha…
My birthday is in a week. Now I’m just hoping for a uConsole by Christmas. If a whole year passes, then I imagine more people will be considering a refund.
Not that it would change anything, but I’d be curious to know how many devices were ordered with the cellular module and how many were wifi only. I didn’t personally see a use for anything beyond wifi (I’m not often away from wifi these days, and when I am a phone for wifi would suffice), and I’m hoping there are clever uConsole owners who find other uses for that expansion space and connector and share their plans and experiences.
