I want to say the 18th. I ordered mine on the 18th of last month, so i doubt mine will ship with the first batch. But i have my fingers crossed.

I’m fairly confident it will arrive by my birthday, which is the end of June.

I got tired of waiting for my uConsole and purchased a different handheld while i wait. It is an absolute BEAST! Check these specs out:

Weighs only six ounces (measured 6 7/8" by 2 3/4" by 11/16")
SC43177/SC43178 processors at 256 kHz
11K ROM (BASIC) and 1.9K RAM
Full QWERTY keyboard
non backlit monochrome 24 characters by 1 row of capital text only display
Almost 300 hours runtime on one set of four PX675 button cells
Cassette interface with cassette player

And the best part? It can also be used as a standard calculator.

Edit: you can see more info here The TRS-80 Pocket Computer

It has been really neat to play with. I got a small box of tapes that the original owner used and im trying to figure out what some of their old programs they saved do. I found a few recognizable things like Lunar Lander and a couple number guessing games so far.

What is happening with shipping i have waited double 90 days now 180 days ?

Who knows, it’s all speculation and sentiment at this point.

Business days aren’t calendar days. They wouldn’t include weekends or the manufacturer’s local holidays (New Year and Golden Week). I estimated that 90 business days would have taken us to mid-March.

Alex at ClockworkPi posted a thread towards the end of last month about a quality issue with the milled cases, as the team wasn’t satisfited with the weight of the units. They opted to use a lighter but more expensive material instead and expect to ship sometime this month.

My major complaint up to last month was that we hadn’t really heard anything aside from Hal’s occasional post on Twitter. Now that Alex posted an update, I’m less anxious even if I am still refreshing this forum daily.

I don’t mind if a project ships a little later than expected, which is good because I don’t think I’ve ever preordered a device that arrived on time, but in a post-Kickstarter world I really expect progress updates.

In addition to it being a sign of life that the team still exists, I want to hear about the problem-solving that goes into designing and fabricating something like the uConsole.

will we all collectively have heart attacks when the shipping date is announced? perhaps we should make sure a family member is present when we log onto this forum.

I work in IT, if i have a heart attack while here everyone will just gather around and make jokes about turning me off and then on again. -_-

that’s cold … but I work in industry … they want us to wear watches with hands on them so when we die in a horrible industrial accident … they know when to clock us out…
