Strongly recommend to flash the micro SD card with this new image, or update with the following commands:

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y devterm-kernel-current-cpi-a04 devterm-gearbox-a04 devterm-fan-daemon-cpi-a04 && sudo reboot

Keyboard firmware update is also recommended according to:

Does the new image include the fix for A04 potential X performance problems + potential solution - #6 by poulsbo ?

With @Godzil HDMI fix I would hope. Quite frankly, it’s about time.

Would also be good to include the snapd printer breaking fix for any A04 and A06 updates so people don’t have to go hunting in the forums and fixing manually.

Was the image updated? When I run the update script I am told that I am up-to-to date already. I did notice that there was an edit from 0.1 to 0.1a, but was anything changed? I can flash my testing disk after work tonight.

Very nice but how about a proper OOBE so we can set up our own user accounts and such? And integrating the sound drivers and implementing a fix for the misaligned display?

Is there something more recent now for the A04? I just downloaded this, flashed onto a new card, and out of the box none of the updates work…

I followed this guide. They really should update some of these images because it is a terrible first experience for a user currently.

Shouting out again. No OS updates yet, this is ridiculous. If it was a device that ran an OS right out of the box, it wouldn’t be an issue, but since the only option is this image which hasn’t been updated, whut?

Yeah, I resigned myself to the idea that the a04 is effectively a dead-end platform. I may just need to spend more money and go with the rpi cm4 or the a06
