I still had to pay Zoll and Fedex fees and it will supposedly be delivered on Monday. Now I’m still trying to flash my CM4 board with eMMC memory so I can get started right away on Monday.
The Book is, for me, a great bit of kit, mostly use it in the “praying mantis” mode, screen above screen. Side effect is less kneck and back strain as I’m looking straight at the screen and a lot less looking down. Great for research on top screen, typing on bottom or Teams/Zoom call on top and responses and notes below.
From my perspective Lenovo missed the mark and should have gone for the AMD 7840/7940 processors, better bang for processor buck and the onboard GPU smokes the Intel Xe processor… Whilst i could see how the Book would be great for POTA/SOTA … Possibly a touch spendy and a tad fragile…

dont forget RF sensitivity - Dad’s doing a great deal of FT8 on 80 meter and his onboard mouse flakes out - he’s got a load of ferrite cores coming but consumer laptops are not up to the task - it comes in on a USB sound card (cheap dongle type) - suggested a SignalLink USB but he’s hesitant to purchase one…

I seem to remember, might have been on Eham, one chap built effectively a fitted Faraday cage for their laptop. Very thin marine grade plywood shell lined with copper foil and the screen and keyboard made of acrylic one way glass, both taped and grounded with the two sheets joined at the hinge with copper tape.
Very Rube Golberg / Heath Robinson but he swore by/at it…

I’ve helped him a bit with ferrite core placement but he operates at much lower frequencies than I typically do… I only operate in that band on field day or camping. and I use a different antenna system (dipoles) so he is probably operating on a long wire and may have stray RF - I did check his grounding… anyway he’s going to try an external mouse to see if it is any better… I have had issues with touchscreens and RF though…
When you get that fully loaded uConsole… “available now” Alex said mid jan still… i wonder if the batch 6 cm4’s and 4g cards ever showed… since both were delayed…

Been trying to wade thru the copious amounts of info here and see that you seem to have a grasp on the timelines involved. Not wanting to appear impatient but obviously I am and having been burned once by a long delay shipping thing I tend to get skittish. My question is where do you go to see a post of the orders and get a picture of what or where order numbers are in the Queue? This appears to be like having a knee replaced. The initial wait during rehab is excruciating and then every thing is just “good”. Knowing what to expect make the second one a much better experience. Thanks for any insight.

Speaking as someone at week 10 of recovery after a total knee replacement and someone who has received both their Uconsole and a replacement top plate and screen…
The pain subsides gradually, the Uconsole will arrive eventually…

As for the knee, Stay the course. Push a little everyday. I think it
was around 8 months in that I realized I didn’t hurt and I was walking
normally so I had the other one done. Back on my tractor and feel
pretty good. Just don’t jump of the tailgate of the truck. That was
shocking even my grandson heard the clunk.

May seem obvious since numbers are coming in but,
Received word that my cm4,4g,black 223xx will not be in batch 6. Will have to wait till the next 4g order shows up…
If you want something in the mean time…
My devterm no cm4, 40 day wait total. - less than the 60 business day estimate. Much better to source your own cm4.

So are you saying that if I had sourced my own rpi cm4, the shipping would be faster? Aww man, I have a few laying around and I could’ve done that.
Is there a way to change orders, or a way to cancel order and replace them?
