RetroArch Megathread

Hi! Will check tomorrow, have not tried the filters yet, other than following the guide for retro arch setup. Unsure if any are running. Will let you know !

Just do what the guide says

So from the RetroArch repo do:

cd gfx/video_filters
make
mkdir -p ~/.config/retroarch/filters/
cp *.filt *.so ~/.config/retroarch/filters/video

Now edit your config and change the video_filter_dir too
video_filter_dir = “~/.config/retroarch/filters/video/”

Then under video settings go to video filters and pick one

How do i access retro arch repo? Sorry im a total noob.

if you followed the guide…
it means from the retroarch dir, you ran:

git clone https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch.git retroarch

So if you did that it would be

cd ~/retroarch

@Wizz @fr500 This is weird, ive done this before lots of times but this has never happened before. i added the emulator but games only load up from retroarch. when i try to play the game from the snes folder in games i get a black screen. i would appreciate any help, thanks

I don’t know anything about that launcher sorry

thank you so much i did it! but where do i download the filters from? thanks

You don’t, the filters are the .filt files that were copied in this line:

cp *.filt *.so ~/.config/retroarch/filters/video

Make sure you do this

Now edit your config and change the video_filter_dir too
video_filter_dir = “~/.config/retroarch/filters/video/”

Then under video settings go to video filters and pick one

They are persistant across the cores and reboots is my experience ! Happy you got it working !!!

I do these steps exactly as above, starting in retroarch, and I get: cp: target ‘/home/cpi/.config/retroarch/filters/video’ is not a directory

what am I doing wrong?

from retroarch.

cd gfx/video_filters

yep, did that in retroarch. What I did was find my way to the directory, and made the required directory there. then re tried the cp command and it worked that time.

That’s great, thanks so much!

Is there anyone experiencing issues getting 32x to load? I have added the picodrive and the proper script, but when i attempt to run it, it returns to the Shell

  • I have also added the BIOS file for SegaCD, just in case, but to no avail.
  • I tried loading the picodrive Core manually from RetroArch, and load the content, but it leads to the same restart.

Hey man how do I turn the filter off? It’s screwing with my PCSX hard

Go back to the video filter option, but this time press start. It’ll restore it to default.

I got round to doing this yesterday. All installed fine now, thanks.

Trouble is, I get horrendous slow-down on just about every core with filters applied…

As a aside, is there an optimal setting to get genesis plus gx to run without stuttering?

I just realized that all the save files on my RetroPie can be transferred and played on my GS.

Not sure how many people know this, but it’s totally do-able, and I think that’s pretty freakin’ neato.
