Ordered a uConsole Kit RPI-CM4 Lite + WIFI + Raspberry Pi CM4 104000 lite on 21 January 2024 - yet to hear anything, still waiting for it to arrive.
if it is Black, then it should be in the next few batches. Alex said they are focusing on black in next batch.
Mine is a matt silver, does that mean they are not working on my order?
I assume theyâll focus on black in the next few batches because a lot of customers waited for the black version for a long time because there seemed to be some technical issues with anodizing the case.
So theyâve been producing silver ones in the past few months and meanwhile trying to figure out how to solve the issue.
Apparently, the figured out how to do it properly.
But I assume theyâll still work on silver ones. Just not as many as it used to be.
Hopefully. I ordered my matte black, Kit RPI-CM4 Lite, wifi only back in Dec #259xx
Been a long almost 7 months wait as I thought Iâd get it after 3
@Airbag That is about darn time they focus on Matt Black ones!!! You guys have been waiting for the longest, perhaps!
Unfortunately it still hasnât shipped
Its coming close to a year since I ordered now. Is there anyway or anyone I can ask about the status and expected shipping date?
Yesterday I got the notification email it has finally shipped I guess someone reading this thread felt sorry for me and pushed through my order
that is a long wait, a reward to your patience, my friend!
WTF? Product description says 90 business days, but the FAQ implies much shorter wait times. Then I read in here that people are waiting as long as a year or more. Is the uconsole really good enough to justify paying and then standing in line for a year? Will it be obsolete by the time it arrives?
@Eunderfinger For many reasons. Perhaps the most important one is that there is no alternative device like it in this form factor and built quality.
As for what you mentioned, we donât worry about it being obsolete. It is powered by a Raspberry Pi, therefore, it is already obsolete in modern sense. An entry level smartphone would outperform it. It is not a productivity tool, basically it is just a toy. Plus not many people aremaking stuff like this in this level of modularity and finish. So I guess that is why people wait.
Just wanted to point out that receiving the item you paid for is not a reward for patience; itâs the completion of a business transaction.
Your patience isnât being rewarded, itâs being abused.
With peak lithography cost CM4 is likely to be good until the quantum or photon computer?
People got so used to progress they canât understand the universe is fixed, everything has limits.
If the CM5 works at 16nm weâre golden. And maybe there will be a compatible CM in the future who knows.
Definetly not a toy for me. I main this thing with lite + TWM. With 20Ah pack it replaces Apple/Google. If anyone made a good native game it would replace Nintendo/Sony and Microsoft looks very pale in comparison. MANGS are done for.
I agree to some extend, but I am just trying to be positive here.
But I see it in a different prespective, before I place the order, there are 3 options. Option 1, I can order from the official site, and wait for 2 to 9 months, or option 2, I can order from Aliexpress and pay the premium of 150-ish euro, or I can wait and buy one from the second hand market, which may or may not happen. I chose to wait, and saved the 150-ish euro for something else. So from that aspect, the reward of my patience is 150-ish euro.
The same reason I donât hate the scalpers. They simply filled the void. And we as consumers do not always win, espically in a sellerâs market like in this case.
And I think the reason why CWP is capable of âlytingâ in front of our face and not fulfilling its 90 day promise (I believe it is not entirely their fault, but they could be more honest by stating that on the official site, and donât hate on Alex, he just works there.) is because nobody else is making anything close to the level of finish like they do.
But I guess the landscape is about to shift because I just found out another proect named Pilet with Raspberry Pi 5, promised to be at the price range of 200 US dollars.
So I guess Iâll be getting one of these some day.
I DO hate the scalpers
@bsk Scalpers always exist, just like short sellers in stock market.
