The Display is really Nice & Love the Keyboard
this is gonna be my Main Machine for taking notes and continue to learn programing
it’s actually worth the Wait time

Thank you for the suggestion but I am more inclined to request a refund from PayPal and report them to the Consumer Protection Bureau. They had 90 days listed when I ordered; this is a fraud for all I know.
its not. we all just have to wait a long ass time. i got mine, it took forever, but its great. this stuff is hard to make at scale for such a small team
That’s right. Sucke to wait for so long but I think we all can agree that it’s not a scam.
Now, noone can blame you if you ask for a refund. It’s completely understandable, but I suggest to write Alex and politely ask him what’s going on.
if your order has a CM4, you can try and ask Alex to remove it. Just like white-round-square suggested. But, again, if you preffer a refund, that’s ok too. I was this close to aks for one haha.
I also recommend to check the thread about shipping times that I opened a while ago. It’s not super accurate, but it gives you an idea of what to expect.

Not a scam but a bad business practice. Imagine if I ask you to pay me now and deliver the work 7 months later instead of the agreed time. Would you pay me? Probably not, so there is no excuse or justification to support such type of behaviors.
If the page would show no estimate time and leads up to 1 year, it would be correct, but then you would lose a ton of sales of course.
People get what they ask for; if you support bad behaviors and don’t do anything to fix things, you are part of the problem, not part of the solution, and nothing really changes.
I understand your frustration, but you knew exactly what you were getting into when you purchase this, as this brand is known to have long deliver times, there are lots of people here that had the uConsole (myself included), so this is not a scam. Is just a small brand trying to fulfill orders. Have you tried reaching out to Alex instead of paypal? Which configuration did you bought?
It really depends on what configuration you’ve order as this directly impacts on delivery time.
3 months in… that means 3 months closer to it being shipped… why did i choose a fully kitted out unit lol.

ask him to remove rpi4 4gb, he will refund you ~80 EUR
and you can buy locally cm4/cm5 8gb when you will get shipping information (but you have to buy proper model ofc)
i did consider that… but its not like thats going to add 6 months to the wait so i’ll be patient. i remember the DevTerm took so long i got divorced, changed jobs and moved before it shipped lol

but for real, I waited 6 months and could wait more, there is a chance that after removing cm4 your uconsole will be in the ‘next batch’ + you can buy 8gb version vs 4gb offered
i emailed alex just to ask. if possible it would be nice to have it by July when i have some internation travel to do, but i’m not holding my breath.

well Alex advised it would speed up the shipment a fair bit by removing the CM4… so i did that… now to go find a “local” CM5 8G. would I be correct in thinking a CM5 8G NON emmc is best?

yes, but you probably will have to update CM5 firmware to boot from random SD card and for it you may need to find SD card which CM5 will agree to boot from

i figued that would be the best bet. i have a semi large volume of high quality SDs so thats not likely the issue. and i just tried to order a CM5 16Gram, no EMMC as well as the 8G ram model from 3 different sellers in canada (where i am) an all out of stock. sooo we start a new game. find-the-cm5 lol
