Update: uConsole shipping related

would it be fair to punish those who ordered a model with 4g LTE by not shipping their models out with the ones who did not order the 4g module? I don’t think it would. I ordered one without the 4g module too. I think everyone should get it at the same time. Maybe they could work something out like sending the module separately, at a later time. Maybe if that could be a solution, but I don’t think those of us who orders are not affected by the 4g hold up should get our devices sooner. It wouldn’t be fair.

The delays is because of the custom law on the 4g modem, in what way is it fair to delay the other model? And now if there is a ban on export for 4g modem the other should be punished too and not be shipped? I dont understand the logic.

people who ordered the 4g module did not know it would cause their orders to be delayed. why punish them by sending uConsoles to everyone BUT them? It’s only fair that no one be sent their modules until everyone is able to receive them imo. obviously they can only send out so many in a batch, but I think it would be unfair to send out a smaller batch than was originally intended.

@AlexDuan

Thank you for updating the information.

Unfortunately, delays in delivery due to customs and political issues are force majeure and unavoidable.
However, I hope you will continue to update true information to prevent speculation.

Well, one could say it’s not fair to “punish” people that ordered the wifi only version by adding delays because there are export issues on a part they didn’t ordered.

I can understand the decision of not shipping local orders first. But here I think it’s debatable to delay every orders. Anyway they usually ship by version batches, I believe it was the case for the DevTerm. Depending on the module they got shipped at different stages

Hi Clockworkpi team,

Good things worth waiting. I just wodering why customers like me living in China can not receive the products… there is no limitations for shipping from Shenzhen to Shanghai…

So I can receive the uconsole and post some unboxing photo to show off haha…

I’m actually going to agree here. I’m from the US, but if there is no shipping restrictions then you should get yours sooner. Maybe the company wants to ship them around the same time? :person_shrugging:

DevTerm did ship in batches by processor…but i think this was an availability issue. shipments are probably organized by batches and shippers along with nations of destination and brokered shippers.

The truth is, all orders are being held. Not only 4G ones.

Our company ship out goods every two weeks to EU and US…Maybe next time Clockworkpi can ship the 4G addtional board alone, so the main console can use another HS code to avoid these delay…

I think the problem is not about when to ship and when the customs would accept your file. For a pre-order product I’m predict to wait more time. But you need to prove You have real product in hands.

Now for fair, I can understanding delay China users shipping. But how about post more picture on here or on Twitter? The last picture on twitter is still the aluminum version in march. That’s too early.

so…does it means that we have to wait for more than 3 or 4 month now?
or even longer?
is there MORE information for uconsole? photo of packing case or a lot of device,or even some normal information,i know maybe you are busy or lazy, but at least we have right to know more.

do not just say wue have right to ask for refund ,we also have right to know more .

I understand that several people in here are upset with this (IMO completely predictable) customs delay, but I must point out that being rude to the one dev that openly communicates with us probably isn’t the greatest idea if we want communication or future projects to continue. Perhaps it is time that we all step back and remember that CWPi doesn’t have thousands of workers, this is a passion project for these guys. They are doing their best to bring us the neat stuff we want as quickly as they can and their track record shows that they can, have, and will continue to deliver to the absolute best of their abilities. These guys are just as stressed and frustrated with the delays as we are.

Sit back, relax, and be patient. You will get your items, but it will take a little more time. If you are incapable of doing so, please remove yourself from the queue so my order can get bumped up.

I think people are forgetting this is a preorder, that just means you’ll get one first when it’s released. Having purchased one doesn’t entitle you constant updates as if you were some sort of shareholder. It releases when it releases, I think it’s clear if you want a refund you can get one.

It is what it is.

Yup, once they get the process for the new product squared away, subsequent orders should be pretty straightforward.

The geopolitical factors are affecting massive manufacturers as well, not just CWPi.

I believe uConsole is coming soon, but when will the disk image be available?

I assume the disk images and the wiki area will be activated as soon as shipping begins
