If the cm5 has the same form factor as the cm4 it shouldnt be the case, if not than im sure clockworkpi will release a new board like they did with the cm4 on the devterm
So its all dependent of what parts they have in stock so first will be uconsoles with everything included then once they run out of a part (color, cm4, 4g) they move onto orders that they can fulfill, most likely the case is they didnāt have any of the black pannels when it came to your order. Mine came sooner than most (early 249**) because my order had no cm4 and no 4g, but i did notice people with the same order (different color) who had a later order number than mine get theres before me. Dont worry means that your order shouldnt be too long of a wait (bare in mind that they still have to fulfill orders for people waiting over a year). For any reason you can email alex about your order which you can find at the top of this thread as well as updates about batchs from the man himself. Hopefully the new metalworks manufacturer (mentioned by alex) they have lined up will make orders come out faster and in better quality even though its already quiet nice quality as is.
Also @FlyWood i thought this was the case too but no, even though people in china will get their packages before the rest of the world with each batch, they still go through the same process of orders made like anyone else.
Itās pretty standard for companies to group shipping orders by what items were ordered (to prevent unnecessary running around the warehouse and to prevent the wrong item ending up in the wrong order) and by where itās shipping to (to make getting everything shipped easier). Be patient, they only just started shipping this batch, theyāll get to yours soon.

Iām 25xxx getting close! wooo. The time flys after the first two months of waiting. Not much you can do abt the supply chain. Just really have to be patient. I think this forum has been an experience lolz
Sending an email to Alex is a waste of time.
He just replies the same thingsā¦ āYour order will be in the next batch or 1 batch before youā. This is since December 13th.
I have order number 217XX (ordered may, 24th 2023). Black RPI4 4G. I saw so many people with same setup getting their device with order number up to 25xxx.
I canāt believe they follow any good supply practice and order and the āwe ship 2-3 batches per monthā is a lie.
I was patient until I started seeing so many people with the same setup getting device before me (while ordering after me). Fully disrespectful to customers and community that pre-finance their business. Shame!!!

Yeah, Iām not sure abt this:| Iāve been seeing that sporadic instances occurring where the order is close to a yr old. The time I emailed, I received āitās going to take 90 business days.ā after that I just generated an estimated wait time.

Maybe weāll see ours ship at the end of 2024. I wish they would have updated the time to ship on their store page. Reading from others here it seems that 120 or 180 days would be a better estimate.
I placed my order on Aug 10, 2023 order 225XX. No shipping information yet. I see people posting that their order placed a month after mine. Same configuration Black CM4, 4g. Are they just randomly shipping these out regardless of order date?

the person listed above states- core- nonā¦ no core- cm4 versionā¦ did you have a core-? cause mine is the same as yours with core-ā¦ ordered in beginning of Julyā¦ and no shipping infoā¦
Yeeeeeaeaaaaaaahhhhhhh, they need to remove the āin-stockā and replace it with something like ābuilt to order.ā I am waiting for a Karen to come around and say āthe dishonesty is horrible. Reported to the BBB.ā
I just looked at the website again and it does say āpre-orderā, but other than that, with the A-06 saying āout of stockā right next to the CM4, does give the impression there are a bunch of cases and PCBs for the CM4 in a box on a shelf waiting to be put together and shipped.

Maybe its a way of them just dealing with the emence amount of orders and focusing the manufacturing on one type rather than spending some resources on making A06 cores. With cm4 all they have to do is buy them and make an adapter board for it. Also i dont know about the situation on A06 orders and how many are yet to be fulfilled.
