Is Pico 8 included with uconsole? I only see tic-80 on the start menu.
TIC-80 is open source and available for free.
Pico-8 was developed by Lexaloffle and is closed-source commercial software, but there is a Raspberry Pi OS binary available from their online store. It should run on the uConsole but wasn’t included.
Ok just ordered a Sainsmart Genmitsu 4040 pro CNC router, another use for the uconsole, no fan or moving parts perfect to run a CNC… no dust problems
i’m planning to use Renoise on it!
I tried to run dosbian and combian, but no luck. Looks like internal display is not recognized.
I’ve got a Pocket Chip that I’ve used for years. Though the keyboard is pretty much unusable at this point. So, the uConsole will be a much nicer replacement.
I do a lot of remote admin tasks and I’m never home. Being able to pull a pocket computer out and fix a problem quickly is wonderful.
I would like to try and use it mainly as a phone. Also maybe for game dev for bits and pieces of coding (mainly C). Also saw that you can use it as a radio of some sort, and maybe also use it to try and get some satellite data would be cool.
I ordered a spare motherboard and CM4 adapter to make a raspberry pi like headless system.
Been using mine as a replacement for any other phone, got calls working today.
Can you show me how?

DO NOT load Python Jupyter or Jupyter Notebook on top of Python Spyder IDE it will corrupt the Spyder IDE installl - my efforts to fix Spyder IDE corrupted the linux install and I had to reflash the micro SD and start over…
I’m probably gonna try Twister OS and get RetroPie up and running. After that I’m not sure. Got some DOS games I wanna try out.
If you succeed, please remember to come back and share your experience
how well does it work as a phone? do you use something like a bluetooth earpiece? I’d love to use mine as a business phone
the old joke goes: emacs is an operating system, only the editor sucks
í’d get a nokia ‘feature phone’ for that. you want something reliable for business.
janky as all hell, but gets enough attention and is cool enough that i put up with it lol
i use an adapter to split the 3.5mm on the expansion port to a mic jack and headphone jack, then connect a lav & my iems
Pls let me know how it works.
Still waiting for mine
Another user note - if you are trying to use a Logitech unifying receiver - it may have issues with USB C port … but the 3-port USB adapter board (3rd party) ports work with a USB-C to usb cable to work fine with a Logitech k400+ keyboard/mouse travel keyboard… you’ll want to install Solaar to manage…
