DevTerm A0604 Performance Comparisons

I can probably share some links here that finally made me go with an A0604 model after long consideration: TLDR: The A72 is apparently way more performant and power-efficient than the A53, and in fact the recommended configuration is to pair an A72 with some A53 cores. As always of course, careful with what is compared in those articles, some reference the A72 to an A57 which is not at all the same as an A53. But seeing some of the numbers, and assuming a device like the DevTerm will reduce …

Bottom line is I don’t think the A06 will be more power-consuming than the A04, at least not related to its computing power, and when idling it should be the same or even better if the OS is well-implemented. But I’m by no means an expert and could be wildly wrong.

I don’t really have a use for it, it’s just nostalgia really. But I guess if I get the A06 it’ll be future proofed for if I want to start swapping Os’s and running emulators. Cheers

DevTerm Production Status Update

Hey guys, I’m Alex, a member of Clockwork Tech. Some of you guys may have had talks with me as I’ve been doing most of the emails. I’m here to share some details about the DevTerm. As @yong has mentioned, the DevTerm is very close to be shipped. The first batch will be the CM3, then A06, then A04. The reason that we have to ship in batches is that as some of you guys have noticed, the CM3 is a pre-manufactured core from RaspberryPi, which we’ve ordered for a while. The A06 and A04 are customiz…

The first batch will be the CM3, then A06, then A04.
According to the manufacturer’s schedule, the A06 will be ready soon, so it will be shipped just a few days after the CM3, a couple of weeks tops. The A04 will take a little more time.

The DevTerm uses 18650 batteries, which is easy to purchase. So we decided to not provide because it makes the shipping much easier.
