wifi card also has 2 BT antennas I think
wasn’t it yesterday - 15th?
I ordered early november …AIO V2 + Upgrade Kit + wifi card
thanks… jeez I hoped to play with it this month
Received my boards yesterday afternoon and just got them installed this morning. Now typing this from my wonderful 1 TB NVME uConsole. It does feel significantly faster, but maybe that’s just a bit of derangement from the lack of sleep from being up til 6 am being an idiot. The process is more than smooth and painless if you read the appropriate threads and do it correctly, not that I did that. Not proud to admit that I spent 4 or so hours cloning a sd card using my 10 year old super slow windows laptop, because at 2am it didn’t strike me that the pi could probably do that itself… just for the pi to not boot because i edited the config.txt file after I cloned my drive and didn’t edit it on both drives… I realized this moments after I went and reflashed the whole drive using SD card copier and watching (in horror and bittersweet tired sadness) as it took all of ten minutes to reflash the drive I spent four hours last night transferring files and waiting in excruciating slowness for win32 disk imager to read and write… But it’s working now and I feel unstoppable so all’s well that ends well, just another lesson to myself to actually read everything before starting i guess.
Would you be so kind to write a brief summary of the steps you took?
The right steps or the wrong ones lol?
The right ones were just following this guide from lululvlv. Very quick and took all of 20 minutes to do with no additional hardware outside the uConsole.
The wrong steps were (the following is not useful or particularly helpful information aside from a cautionary tale about not being the kind of fool who doesn’t read the information that was readily available to them, like me) 1. using a 10 years old hp laptop.(don’t judge me, I only keep this thing around to use 2018 Photoshop, i hate Microsoft, Adobe, and HP but I refuse to use GIMP) 2. spending a half hour moving 70 gigs of nonessential files off the sd card because I was tired and forgot that wouldn’t actually speed up the cloning. 3. writing the .img file onto the drive i was supposed to be cloning. 4. realizing I accidentally did that. 5. finding a new drive to clone the 100 gig file onto. 6. realizing none of my other drives had enough space. 7. spending another hour transferring 70 gigs of files from one drive to another to make enough space to transfer the 100 gig img file. 8. spending an hour transfering the 100 gig image to another drive. 9. writing the drive. 10. realize the drive doesn’t boot
11. go to sleep becacuse its 6 am. 12. wake up, go to the clockwork pi forum, read lululvlv’s guide and just do that instead.
You can also learn a lot from (other people’s) mistakes. ![]()
Don’t worry about it. You know that we all have experiences like this behind us and ahead of us.
I’m already afraid of the day when I’ll be holding my uConsole in my hands and will have read a lot about it, but then won’t remeber what to look out for. ![]()
Sir , do you need help?
I got my my kit today, the setup was smooth and easy and everything is working as expected. Thank you @vileer !
I haven’t had the chance to test this and I understand it’s an issue unrelated to this upgrade kit, but I seem to recall reading that the RJ45 extension board won’t help with the speaker static issues, is this correct? Also, the RTC battery connector is for one of these right?
The RTC battery from Pihut doesn’t have the right connector, ask me how I know!, Vileer said the connector is 1.25MX, Pihut does sell a precrimped connector that may work though.
Supposedly, the connector from an official Raspberry Pi RTC battery fits. I have one lying around here somewhere. If I find it, I’ let everyone know.
I don’t think it will fit; it’s too thick to fit in.
Unfortunately it doesn’t fit as I brought one for that exact reason, I’ll be stripping the connector off mine and soldering on a new one, when I find the right connector
Right you are. I just found my battery and, as you say, the connector is too thick. Rats! That battery would’ve been a nice size to go in the uConsole case.
Thank you. So, just to confirm, this listing should be the correct one for the CM5 RTC, and the variant we should get is the Molex51146 connector correct?
That link you post will work.
Hey vileer, my order, #5731, did not include the AIOv2 but its still showing as not shipped yet. I noticed you said all ordered without the AIv2 had shipped. Was just hoping to follow up on it.Thanks.
