How to make an OS image from vanilla Raspbian OS?

Hi, is it possible to make an OS image from vanilla Raspbian OS?

I think you forgot your question is answered here. Or here.

Better yet, why bother going vanilla when an image provided by the community is good as stock Raspberry Pi OS?

Thanks, the community image looks interesting to try it out

Is there an official Github repo for the Community OS image?

The images are located in the mega or google drive link in this thread.

The images are to large to host on GitHub.

No, there isn’t a repo for the OS on GitHub, per se. But there is one for the kernel used for the ClockworkPi 3.14-based devices. You probably mean that, so I linked it for you. (The link to the repo is also in the Bookworm question, by the way.)

Just to clarify - what is a difference between Bookworm and ParrotHome?

Bookworm is just Debian 12 Bookworm with the drivers and a few theming items (wallpapers, splash screen…)

ParrotHome is more of a daily driver version of ParrotSec that is comparable to Kali OS.

Thanks, downloading ClockworkPi-CM4-Bookworm-6.6.41 now

Updated driver overlays - easier config.txt management.

  • dtoverlay=clockworkpi-devterm
  • dtoverlay=clockworkpi-uconsole

Do I need to change something for uConsole or ClockworkPi-CM4-Bookworm-6.6.41.img.xz will work by default?

by default its set to the uConsole so nothing is required.
you can remove the DevTerm stuff (fan, Printer) by sudo apt remove devterm*
